For the maintenance of the house, it is rare to use only one ingredient, especially when one does the natural cleaning. Some associations do not work well or can be very dangerous, but others can be radical against stains. So if you already love baking as much as we do, you will love it even more by associating it with these few effective allies too.
1) Baking soda and white vinegar or alcohol
We gave you the reasons why you should never mix baking soda and white vinegar. This association only works very rarely in very specific cases where the effervescent reaction has a useful mechanical efficiency. This is particularly the case when your pipes are clogged or they release unpleasant odors! Simply sprinkle 50 to 70 g of powder in the sink hole and pour 100 ml of vinegar over it. Leave for a quarter of an hour then rinse with boiling water. It is also possible here to mix water and vinegar in the kettle to heat the vinegar, boost its efficiency and remove the limescale from the kettle at the same time.
2) Baking soda and lemon
To eliminate unpleasant odors, it is difficult to better than this sanitizing combination! Place baking soda in the bottom of a saucer and add lemon juice. You will then only have to put everything in the place to be treated (for example in the fridge). If you do not have fresh lemon on hand, the essential oil is a good alternative. Finally, if you add a little water to form a paste, you will have an excellent product to clean the cooktop and degrease everything. To decalcify the faucet and clean the oven or for glass-ceramic plates, this combination also works very well: sprinkle with baking soda and rub with a sponge soaked in lemon juice.
3) Baking soda and coarse salt
Always to fight against deposits that clog the pipes, you can pour a cup of coarse salt then another one of bicarbonate inside then cover with boiling water. This technique is very effective to instantly relax accumulated debris and you can avoid the arrival of a plumber.
4) Baking soda and crystals
Forget your good old chemical scouring cream and replace it with a natural alternative that will also be suitable for fragile surfaces on which we want to avoid scratches. For this, mix 50 g of bicarbonate, 25 g of borax and 25 g of soda crystals. Gradually add liquid soap until you get a thick cream. You can transfer it to an airtight jar. You can also combine these two ingredients for an impeccable cleaning of the oven: take a dose of bicarbonate and add a quarter of this dose of sodium crystals. Finish with a tablespoon of liquid soap and water to form a paste that you apply in the oven and leave overnight. A sponge stroke moistened with hot water to scrub the next day will finish the job.
5) Bicarbonate and borax
Whether it is to find a shower or a flawless bathtub or to clean the sinks and toilets, you will probably find no better than the mixture of 200 g of bicarbonate and 50 g of borax. Use level is also very simple: sprinkle and wipe with a damp sponge to rub before rinsing and drying. The ideal is of course to prepare the mixture in advance to be able to pull it when it seems necessary!
6) Baking and essential oils
We mentioned this association earlier by talking about the cup filled with bicarbonate and added a few drops of lemon essential oil against odors. In the same vein, it is also possible to put the chemical sprays in oblivion and replace them with a home version! Dilute 10 drops of essential oil in 2 teaspoons of baking soda. You can then dissolve it in 500 ml of water and transfer to a spray bottle.
